Bern, Bahnhof: am Bahnwagen hängt eine Gruppenreservation von Olten nach Basel. Ich steige ein, schließlich kommt man kaum einfacher an ein ruhiges Abteil. Kaum sitze ich ab, kommt der Zugbegleiter (oder wie die sich zur Zeit auch nennen).

Zugbegleiter: Wo fahren Sie hin? Ich: Nach Olten. Zugbegleiter: Können Sie nach hinten gehen? Hier ist reserviert. Ich: Ja, ich weiss, [...]

I just got a mail from the Uni Bern, informing me that I’ll get a new ID card for my last semester there (which I won’t have time to spend on campus).

The really great thing will be the fact that I’ll be able to use that card [...]

Overheard yesterday evening, while six people tried to choose a film to watch.

“What, Brokeback Mountain? Nah, I want a film that’s more hetero than that.” – A bit more searching follows. – “Oh, what about Interview With the Vampire? That would be so cool!”

I should have expected that – after declaring my renunciation of the church, I got a questionnaire asking for the reasons. Possible answers included a change of confession, a change of religion, church taxes, questions of faith, attitude of the parish or, last but not least, “anger”.
