Temposhark: The Invisible Line (Cover)

Don’t mess with me
I’ll shoot you down
Don’t mess with me

‘Cause all your heads are gonna roll
I’ve made your misery my goal
So if you want survival
Kneel on my arrival
for this is how I rule the world

Obviously I had to fall for those lyrics. What’s even better is the fact that those are packed into an overdramatic string arrangement which turns the track into a truly pleasurable indulgence of grandeur.

Of course, that’s just the first track of UK-based Temposhark’s debut album The Invisible Line – and not every track consists of lush string arrangements, but instead edges more towards Synthpop/Synthrock (if there’s such a thing).

I take the fact that I actually like that as a good sign, given my usual preference for more mellow stuff. I guess it’s the influence of producer Guy Sigsworth that shines through. The lineage the album shares with Imogen Heap’s Speak for Yourself is audible, IMHO (and that’s not just because she appears on a track to sing a duet with lead singer Rob Diament).

Me likey. And now, let’s play that track again …
