Doodle is a great thing, but there is a need for a Doodle Etiquette, as I realised today.

Take a fairly common case: ask several people to go see a film. There is a chance that on one day, most of the people can come, but not all of them. So, what is the most appropriate thing to do?

Two possibilities:

1. You reschedule the whole thing and try again at a later date (which in the case of films means that they might not run anymore by then.)
2. You tell the ones that can’t do it at the best date that they … well, won’t be part of it. But how would you do that so no one is pissed off? Call it fate? Democracy?

Any suggestions?
