We Love Frutiger
Holy Cow! Now SR DRS has to give itself a new logo too, and OMG are they creative!
Look! They are using [tag]Frutiger[/tag] in a box! A red one, even! Oh, the excitement! – and now please someone tell me why I’m all of a sudden getting so sleepy and about to doze off …
Honestly. I probably would be better off selling text in boxes than writing that damn media sciences paper. Those designers are not even able to emulate the world-renowned [tag]Swiss Graphic Design[/tag], let alone quote it. What a shame.

I would never deny that Frutiger is a great font. I just have a feeling that too many designers take it as an easy way out. I’m afraid that if Frutiger becomes too ubiquitous, it will loose its appeal and appear as bland as Arial – which would be sad indeed.
Perhaps they just wanted to stick with the “swiss-typography”-tradition, wich usually uses “cold” grotesk typefaces like Helvetica, Frutiger or Univers. But I totally agree with you: This is definitively not a very creative and innovative design! It has a high recall value though.
